Who we are

What we collect and why

• Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address and the date of consent. We use double opt-in — you must confirm via a link we email you. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Outbound click logging: when you click through to a charter operator, we log the deal, a one-way hashed (anonymised) form of your IP and browser, and the timestamp, to measure which deals are useful. We do not store your raw IP address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in basic, privacy-preserving analytics (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Local storage in your browser: your saved deals, recently viewed deals and cookie-notice acknowledgement are stored only in your own browser (localStorage). This data never reaches our server and is not shared.

Cookies & tracking

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. We do not sell or share your personal data.

Affiliate disclosure

Ship Happens Deals is an independent affiliate. When you book a charter through a link on our site, we may earn a commission from the operator or booking platform. This never changes the price you pay — it is always the same as booking directly.

How long we keep data

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Anonymised click logs are kept for up to 24 months for aggregate reporting, then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email, or by emailing us. To exercise any other right, contact ahoy@shiphappensdeals.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
